February 26, 2020ALA Advocacy Alert: Contact Your SenatorsThe process for the 2021 federal budget is now in full swing, and we have another important update on the fight to #FundLibraries: the "Dear Appropriator" letters have been released in the Senate. Now, Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI), Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), and Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) are asking their colleagues to show public support for America's libraries by co-signing their letters. Members of Congress rely heavily on constituent feedback to determine funding priorities during the budget cycle, which is why it's so critical to make sure your message is heard loud and clear. We need your help to keep libraries funded. Please contact Sen. Ron Johnson (R) and Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D) and urge them to sign these letters and #FundLibraries. To email both Tammy Baldwin and Ron Johnson (using the ALA portal) please click here.
